Yaogan-50 02 entered its planned orbit following a Long March 6A launch from Taiyuan at 21:22 Beijing time on 15 March 2026. The flight was separate from the January launch of Yaogan-50 01 and remains a distinct archive event. The spacecraft was developed under CASC's spacecraft academy for applications including land surveys, crop-yield estimation and disaster prevention and mitigation. The Shanghai academy developed the solid-boosted liquid-core launcher. The published capacity of at least 4.5 tonnes to a 700-kilometre Sun-synchronous orbit describes the rocket, not necessarily the actual orbit or mass of this spacecraft. CASC also reported a quality review spanning design and production. This was the 633rd Long March launch. Orbital insertion is confirmed; completion of every application test or operational service is not assumed. Event, source and archive-import dates are kept separate.
