Crew-11 returns off California as Kimiya Yui ends his second ISS stay

Crew-11's Dragon safely splashed down off San Diego on January 15, 2026. JAXA reported 17:41 Japan time and 03:41 US Eastern Standard Time, two representations of the same event. The crew comprised Zena Cardman, Mike Fincke, Kimiya Yui and Oleg Platonov. The mission lasted 166.7 days, including 165.6 aboard the ISS; total flight and station-stay durations are distinct. During his second long-duration ISS mission, Yui supported robotic capture of HTV-X1 and carbon-dioxide-removal technology work in Kibo. JAXA said the return was earlier than planned, without supplying details sufficient to infer an individual's medical condition. The experience will inform future training and space activities. This article confirms the official safe-return result without speculating about undisclosed medical causes or confusing ISS and Chinese station missions.
