Algeria's remote-sensing satellite B reached its planned orbit after a Long March 2C launch from Jiuquan at 12:01 Beijing time on 31 January 2026. It belongs to the same system as spacecraft A, launched on 15 January, but was a separate spacecraft and launch event. The spacecraft was developed under CASC's spacecraft academy for land planning and disaster prevention and mitigation. The prime contract also includes ground systems, training and associated services, in addition to delivery of two optical satellites in orbit. The launches were 16 days apart. CASC said the rocket team made eight technical optimisations related to mission compatibility while retaining the two-stage configuration. No undisclosed design parameters are inferred. This was the 629th flight of the Long March family. Successful orbital insertion is not automatically completion of every contractual delivery and acceptance requirement. The two launch histories remain separate and traceable.
