A Long March 2C launched Algeria's remote-sensing satellite A from Jiuquan at 12:01 Beijing time on 15 January 2026. CASC confirmed that the spacecraft entered its planned orbit. The satellite was developed under the group's spacecraft academy for land planning and disaster prevention and mitigation. China Great Wall Industry Corporation is the prime contractor for a 2023 agreement with the Algerian Space Agency covering two optical remote-sensing satellites, ground systems, training and supporting services. The launch used a two-stage Long March 2C. The team designed a dedicated air-conditioning system for transport to meet temperature and humidity requirements within the fairing. Those preparations should not be confused with completion of the satellite's operational services in orbit. This article records the launch of spacecraft A. The two-satellite contract does not establish that both vehicles were already in orbit; spacecraft B's subsequent launch remains a distinct event.
